Sam Houston State University baseball and new head coach Jay Sirianni have a tough slate ahead of them in 2020. The Bearkats have released their schedule for the spring, and it is nothing short of taxing.

Other non-conference opponent highlights include a game at Texas Christian University March 17, a matchup at Rice April 14, a home game against the Aggies April 21, a huge three-game weekend set at Oklahoma beginning Feb. 24 and a contest against Baylor University at Don Sanders Stadium May 12 that will be the Kats’ final home game of the year.
Southland Conference play will get started March 6-8 when Houston Baptist University travels to Huntsville for a three-game series at Don Sanders Stadium, the Crown Jewel of the SLC. May 14-16 will be the final series of the year as SHSU travels to Texas A&M Corpus Christi before the SLC Tournament May 20-23 (location TBA).
The rivalry between the Bearkats and the University of Houston Cougars for the Don Sanders Cup remains alive and well as the teams will matchup a trio of times in 2020. The first of three comes on March 24 in Huntsville at 6:30 p.m. The Kats then travel to Houston April 28 before the teams play the finale at a neutral site at Constellation Field in Sugar Land May 5.
