The city of Huntsville, Texas hosted the annual Touch-A-Truck event on September 24, 2022. Students at Sam Houston State University and residents of Huntsville experienced firsthand what first responders work with.

The City of Huntsville’s Main Street Program hosted “Touch-a-Truck,” a free interactive event in downtown Huntsville, Texas on September 24, 2022.
Ladder-614
Huntsville Fire Department crew for Ladder 614 demonstrated and explained the capabilities of their truck to the public during the Touch-A-Truck event on September 24, 2022. Spectators swarmed Ladder 614 as it towered over the event in downtown Huntsville, Texas.
SWAT
The Huntsville Police Department’s SWAT vehicle attracted the attention of many kids as they climbed on the vehicle and posed for pictures. The Huntsville Police Department had several officers assisting and informing the public about this vehicle.
EMS
Walker County’s Emergency Medical Services ambulance attracted a line of people wanting to learn more about the vehicle. The crew for the ambulance provided information to the public, while demonstrating critical features of this vehicle at the Touch-A-Truck event.
Huntsville Fire Department
Members of the Huntsville Fire Department familiarize the public with features about their fire trucks at the Touch-A-Truck event.. Several firefighters wore their gear in the 90-degree weather and posed for pictures with eventgoers.
Mayco Ledezma
Huntsville Fire Department firefighter Mayco Ledezma talked to eventgoers as they climbed into the firetruck. He provided answered questions about the firetruck at the Touch-A-Truck event.
Goodie Bag
Employees from the Huntsville Public Works Department handed out backpacks with coloring books and other materials at Touch-A-Truck.
Fire Suppression
Ryan Laube and Steven Stegall with Texas A&M Forestry demonstrated how their vehicle could put out fires. Children learned how to aim water at the fires to extinguish them properly and efficiently.
Range 3
Range 3 Towing & Recovery hoisted the American flag over the southern entrance of the Touch-A-Truck event.
