North American Food Drive

Hello, My name is Albert Jimenez III, and I need to have an ad put in The Houstonian. My fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha, hosts an International food drive every year. This is our colonies first year on the SHSU campus, so we are trying our best to make this a huge success. Here are the details.

What: The 13th annual North American Food Drive- a canned food drive that promises to be the largest one-day fraternity philanthropy.

Where: Huntsville’s’ Sam Houston State University and 175 other college campuses around the United States and Canada.

When: November 5, 2005

Who: Sponsored by Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Other sponsors will be named soon.

Why: To raise 3,000+ pounds of food for the Good Shepard Mission, and raise THREE MILLION pounds of food across North America. Last year’s event raised 2,938,012 pounds.

How: Donation bags will be dropped off at local residences and businesses on Nov. 1st. Bags will be collected on the morning of Nov. 5.

All media are welcome to ride along with the Fraternity members while they drop-off and pick-up the bags.

On the collection day, the food will be brought to the drop-off point to be weighed. We will announce the total collections; and then photo opportunities of the members with the canned food will be available. Interviews with participants will also be possible.

With help from the kind, American hearts of Huntsville, Lambda Chi Alpha will feed the hungry locally and all across North America.

Thanks for your time. If you have any questions feel free to call or email. Albert Jimenez III(936-662-7385) deftonesbass3@yahoo.com
