POCONO TOWNSHIP, PA — A Bradford County woman is accused of fatally stabbing her husband and 3-year-old son inside a guest room at Great Wolf Lodge in Monroe County, according to Pocono Township police. Officers say the woman, identified as 27-year-old Metallica Harrison of Towanda, called 911 from the room before police arrived on Oct. 12.

Investigators charged Harrison with two counts of criminal homicide after finding Charles Harrison and the child dead on separate mattresses in the room. Police said Harrison also had injuries to her wrist and neck when officers reached her at the doorway, and the department described the case as an isolated domestic tragedy.

911 call brought officers to the resort room

Police said officers were sent to the Great Wolf Lodge room at about 3:13 p.m. after Harrison contacted the Monroe County Control Center. In the affidavit of probable cause, investigators said she told the dispatcher she needed help dying and could not find a vein in her neck to stab.

When officers reached the room, they saw Harrison at the doorway with a bleeding wrist and puncture wounds around her neck, according to investigators. Police said she told officers she wanted to be with her husband and son. The affidavit says she never asked dispatchers for aid for either of the other two people in the room.

Police say husband and child were found dead in the room

After entering to check on the family, officers found Charles Harrison and the boy dead on separate mattresses on the floor, police said. Investigators said Charles Harrison had multiple stab wounds to the chest, while the child appeared to have one stab wound to the chest.

The affidavit says investigators later reviewed the 911 recording and heard Harrison say, “I’m too weak to stab my neck” and “I need police.” When asked about weapons, she said she had knives and added that what she had been using was not working. She also told the dispatcher that her husband and son were already gone.

Detectives recovered knives and medication bottles from the guest room

Investigators said they found two knives in the room: a large butcher knife on the bathroom floor and a smaller knife on the bathroom sink. Both had teal-green handles, and Great Wolf Lodge employees told police the knives were not items kept by the resort, according to the affidavit.

Police also reported finding several medication bottles scattered through the room. A plastic container and a bathroom trash can contained a brownish-red liquid believed to be blood, investigators said. Those details were part of the evidence police used as they sought search warrants for the hotel room, Harrison and Charles Harrison’s vehicle.

Surveillance video showed the family’s movements before the killings

Great Wolf Lodge security staff told investigators the family checked in on Sept. 21 and extended the stay on Oct. 5. The reservation was scheduled to end on Oct. 13, according to police.

Investigators said surveillance video showed the family entering the room at 6:53 p.m. on Oct. 11. Harrison left briefly around 8:12 p.m. to use a microwave in a vending area, then returned a few minutes later. Later that night, Harrison and Charles Harrison left the room at about 10:43 p.m., went to the arcade, and came back around 11:22 p.m., police said.

Police said the video review showed no further activity at the room door after the couple returned from the arcade. That timeline is part of the ongoing homicide investigation being handled by Pocono Township police.

Hospital statements, arraignment and resort response

Police said Harrison was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital-Monroe Campus in Stroudsburg for treatment, with an officer accompanying the ambulance. During the ride, investigators said she repeated that she was not supposed to be here and said, “I f—– up, I f—– up.”

According to the affidavit, Harrison also asked why there was not an easier way and questioned how deep the vein in her wrist was for next time. Investigators said she told them she was suicidal and declined to speak further after being advised of her rights. Police said she awaits arraignment.

Great Wolf Resorts said it was deeply saddened by what it called a tragic domestic incident and said it was cooperating with law enforcement. The company also said officials determined there were no ongoing security concerns at the resort. Pocono Township police said there was no threat to the community.
